Physician associates are healthcare professionals who work as part of a multidisciplinary team with supervision from a named senior doctor (a General Medical Council registered consultant or general practitioner). PAs are part of the government’s medical associate professions (MAPs) grouping in the health and care workforce and have been working in the UK since 2003.
We are delighted to have an experienced Physician Associate as part of our team so that we can improve access to care for our patients.
Our Physician Associate is Laura Baker, who has over 4 years experience working within General Practice. Laura is supervised by Dr Kate Howard. Dr Wilkinson also supports with supervision of Minor Surgery and Implants.
We will also book locum physician associates when required to help improve access who work under the supervision of the duty doctor.
